Extremely Rare Vintage Black African American Cosmopolitan Ginger Doll
This is an extremely rare all original 1950s dark skin-toned Cosmopolitan Ginger doll in excellent condition. She is identified as a Ginger doll by the side seam running down the middle of her ears, mold flaws on each of her palms, her eyebrows taper to a nice point on each end, closed mouth with dimple under her lip, torso is shapely with a hint of hips and has a faint navel, wide stance of legs, all 5 fingers of each hand are separate with dimples on the knuckles, and toes all the same length with dimples above each toe. Her coloring is even from head to toe. There is a tiny mark on the back of her right leg (please refer to photos).
She has black hair that is stitched in the center with brown thread as shown. The wig is in the roll/flip style. Her eyes sometimes need assistance to open and close.
She has no cracks, splits, or odors. She has her original stringing.Her head tilts slightly when leaned. Both her legs hold a pose.
Her left arm holds a pose but the right one does not. Ginger is wearing an original tagged dress.
It is cotton with overall. It is trimmed with colorful braid and has an attached slip.
Snap on the back of the dress has some paint coming off of it. It is in excellent vintage condition. She is wearing matching bloomers.
The elastic in the bloomers still stretches. She is carrying an original signature vinyl pink purse with "Ginger" written in silver on the front.Her bonnet has flowers and a blue ribbon. It is an original Ginger hat, although not original to the outfit. Peach rayon socks and black rubbery side-knob Mary Jane shoes round out the look. This Ginger has been stored in a doll cabinet away from light in a smoke-free environment.
