This is one of two superb ceramic busts that I have for sale, listed separately, and shown together in the last photo. This one looks like a Black man (it's not certain, though), and the other is an Asian man.
They have an art deco stylized look. The ceramic is very high quality. I assume it was made in a mold, but it was finished in a way that you don't see the mold line. The bust was inserted into a solid wood base.
Unfortunately, neither are signed, and my research has come up empty in trying to find anything like them. The overall height is about 14.5. By itself, the bust is about 10.5" x 8" x 6.The wood base is about 4.9" x 4.9" x 4 1/8 tall. The ceramic has a speckled blue glaze. Looking at the part inserted into the wood, you can see a little bit of the reddish unglazed ceramic.
There are two fractures along the edge of an ear, including a tiny missing chip. There's also a fracture under the bottom lip. The wood base has a noticeable dent on a front bottom corner, and several other corners with lesser dents. It also has some red writing on the front that is partly camouflaged with the brown finish.
