Vintage Painted Face African American Black Cloth Primitive Style Folk Doll 24

Here we have an amazing vintage cloth doll with a dark complexion. She is made in the antique style but is not antique. I do not know her exact age but is most likely vintage. She has a beautifully painted face with a lovely expression. Her brown eyes are looking up and her soft smile shows her teeth. There is a pink bow sewn onto her painted black hair. Her black shoes and beige stockings are also painted on. This doll is wearing a dress made from and old quilt that has been distressed and tea-stained to give it an aged appearance.

Her torso which has not been covered with paint has a feeling of nylon fabric. Her head hands and feet are covered with think paint. She is a wonderful folk art doll with an artistically painted face and would look great in your folk art doll collection. SIZE 24" tall 14" from a sitting position. CONDITION: This doll is in good vintage condition with no holes or odors but she has some rubs and wear to the paint.

There is some paint loss to her neck, across her eye. There are cracks to the paint in her hair showing white lines. Her clothing is purposely distressed and has many holes and stains although her pantaloons on her backside have a couple of holes which may not have been purposely placed there. None of these losses detract from the beauty of this doll.

The clothes are sewn on so I have not removed them. I don't see any signature or marking. Add me to your favorites!
