Raised bands with gilt compartments on spine with red label compartment and gilt title. Gilt seal stamped on the front and back cover. Title page printed in black and red. Faded gilt on edges of the boards. Previous owner's name stamped on the title page. Moisture stain to the title page bottom corner. Label on spine is chipped at the left edge. Size: 16cm x 10cm This is an anonymous journal by a Frenchman. He describes the slave trade in Africa during a voyage from France to Africa to Buenos Aires, beginning in 1702 and ending in 1706. Three copies of this book are available: New York Public Library, Yale University Library, and Biblio Cent du Mus Nat Hist Naturelle in Paris. The author, according to WorldCat, is Oliveira Lima.
