1981 Black Malibu Ken NRFB 1st AA African American Ken Vintage Barbie Superstar

This handsome guy was the FIRST EVER African-American Ken doll produced by Mattel. He is a favorite with both the Mod/Vintage and Superstar era collectors because of his REAL hair - styled in a curly afro - and his handsome, unique head sculpt that was made just for this doll, and never used again! He wears yellow swim trunks and comes with beach towel and mirrored sunglasses. According to the back of the box, he dates Christie doll.

This box is in good solid shape, but does have some normal age wear, a small price tag lift on his upper box flap, and some faint wrinkles on lower front of box (see pic #6). Inner liner has bend by his sunglasses.

Get him now while the price is reasonable-- he is a great investment and is now 40 years old!! Still the best Black Ken doll Mattel has ever made (in my opinion). Item will be sent Priority.
