Vintage 1994 LENCI ITALIAN AFRICAN AMERICAN Black FELT DOLL NAOMI COA #Limited. Beautiful LENCI Doll "NAOMI" 1994 Black Lenci Girl, named Naomi. A wonderful example of the Lenci dolls and MORE RARE in the black versions. 1st Black doll made in 30 years.

Marks: Lenci/Torino, on body tag, Certificte No SEE PICS. Hair/Eyes/Mouth: Dark Brown Wig/ Painted Brown/ Closed Clothing/ Orange, Green, Yellow Plaid Dress; Matching Hair Ribbon, Red Felt Shawl, Red Felt Shoes, Gold Tone Earrings. Made in Torino, Italy Naomi is an HSN exclusive by Lenci comes with numbered signed by Bibija GARELLA Both the doll and the box are in excellent condition, but please look at pictures and decide for yourself. STORY OF LENCI WOOLEN FELT DOLLS The bodies and the clothing of Lenci boy and girl dolls are made of pressed woolen felt. The bodies were machine stitched up the back and across the shoulders then hand stitched between the legs. This allowed them to wear low cut tops and clothes that displayed their limbs. The faces were pressed on moulds and features were then hand painted, hair was made from mohair and this was stitched in. Felt pressed dolls were very popular in the nineteenth century and just after the first world war.

The eyes face sideways, giving the boys a sullen expression and the girls one of loneliness. These dolls have Lenci stamped into the felt of the foot. This is LIMITED EDITION ONLY # were made and it is hard to find.
