Measuring approximately 16 1/2 x 11 1/2 inches behind glass in a frame measuring approximately 22 1/8 x 16 1/2 inches. Thanks for looking at this fantastic African American vintage painting. Charleston Wilson was born 1919. Death date and place are unknown.He was a portrait sketch artist with Joseph Delaney. They were fellow artists working in the Washington Square area in Manhattan New York during the 1940's. African-American artist Joseph Delaney created a 1952 oil painting depicting Charleston Wilson at work. The Schomburg Center have original photos of Charleston Wilson in Greenwich Village. Also the Historical Society of New York received portrait as a gift.
