1950s African American Photo Handsome Young Man Basement Darkroom Restaurant Vtg
Large vintage photo with some condition issues but an incredible image. The young gentleman appears to be a busboy by the towel in his hand.
He stands in the basement of a nightclub used as the photographers dark room. Various trays of chemicals can be seen. Different size negatives hang behind him. One of the larger ones looks to be a shot of a table. As you look around the photo other interesting things pop up.
The photo itself measures approximately 9x7 in. The backing and border were put on by a previous dealer and can be removed. It's in fair condition with multiple wavy creases throughout.
Some image loss bottom corner left. Some discoloration on either side of his face. Please see all of my photos and close-ups for details on condition. It's penciled on the back 1953 and possibly a name.Definitely a rare photograph and probably produced in the room he stands in. This one should be framed, digitally restored or both.
