Large charcoal-enhanced photo of an African-American woman from near the turn of the century, in an ornate plaster-over wood frame and oval, convex glass. From the estate sale of a collector of several hundred of these convex oval portraits - I thought this was one of the most striking. The frame measures 14" x 21".
The inner dimensions of the visible photo are 10" x 17". The photo is mounted flat behind the convex glass. There is no photographer or artist name visible from the front and I have not removed the backing to check the rear of the photo. If you feel our price is out of line, please make an offer. Condition excellent - a few tiny spots of damage to the photo above her right shoulder. A very faint dampstain to the upper photo edge - hardly noticeable. There is a chipped-off portion of the plaster decoration on the lower edge of the frame, revealing the wood beneath. No scratches or damage to the glass. If this is an issue please contact me - I'm willing to work with you. Get images that make Supersized seem small.
