Antique 19th century, 1880s, original cabinet card photograph depicting a powerful image of an African American nanny holding a white baby. One can note the two are paint outdoors with plantlife in the background and the sun shining bright on the woman's brow. No identifying markings or inscriptions. Exhibits gentle wear and soiling.

Mat shows soiling and edge and corner wear. No creases, rips, bends or tears. Chip to bottom left corner of rigid paper board mat. Measures 6 1/2" x 4 1/4".
