This listing is for the exceptional antique drawing of a nude African American man pictured above. This excellent study features a full-length African American man holding a staff and was likely made around 1900.
Though unsigned, it is clearly by the hand of a skilled artist. The work is charcoal on paper and measures 24 inches tall by 15 inches wide. It is double sided, with another image of the same man on the reverse, but this side is covered by the cardboard backing. It is framed behind glass, measuring 29.5 inches tall by 20.75 inches wide in total. Condition: Some small tears/losses along the perimeter of paper, having little effect on the image.
