Antique Folk Art African American Busts 1930s Black Signed C Thomas Outsider

For sale is a great pair of African American Folk Art busts. One girl and one boy, both signed C Thomas on the base. Thought to be a brother and sister.

These were obviously important and well cared for during their lifetime. These have been handled by both Frank Maresca and Steve Powers, two top tier Antiques / outsider and self taught artist dealers. Came to me from a Midwest Collection. These come with a custom made modern stand.

The stand is 8 inches wide, by3 inches deep and 2 and 3/4 inches tall. Figures are roughly 4 inches tall (a hair or two under 4 inches actually).

3 and 5/8 inches wide. Constructed with Papier mache, paint and applied wool.

Photos are taken in a few different lighting situations. Some inside professionally lit, some outside in direct bright light, some outside on a cloud day and some outside under a porch on a cloudy day. One knick on the bottom edge of the girl. Otherwise just minor age related wear.
