Antique Judd 4557 Inkwell Black, African-American Memorabilia Cast Iron c1925
An antique inkwell featuring an African-American male. Judd Company of Connecticut in the 1920s.
Judd code number 4557 on the back side. MATERIAL: The inkwell is made of cast iron, because a magnet sticks. The four edges are brass-plated. CONDITION: The polychrome paint--black, brown, blue, and green--is in nice condition, though perhaps less brilliant than when the inkwell was made nearly a century ago. Rubbing or darkening of the brass plating around the four edges.
No damage, dents, repairs, or rust. The glass insert is missing. DIMENSIONS: The inkwell is approximately 6 inches long, 3.25" wide at its widest point, and 2" tall at the tallest point.
