Antique Vintage Modern Cubist Black African American Painting Sculpture 1970s
This is a very unique and unusual Antique Vintage Modern Cubist Black African American Painting Sculpture, oil on artist board and wood, depicting the portrait of an African American juxtaposed with unusual geometry, esoteric symbolism, and bold color. I have never discovered something like this before, and likely never will again. This is a three-dimensional piece which may also be considered a sculpture or diorama.
The profile of the smiling African American subject is rendered with near photorealistic detail, and he or she displays a bold esoteric symbol on their forehead, rendered as concentric orange designs which may have some secret meaning or personal meaning to the artist. This piece is unsigned, but perhaps you recognize the artist or their work? Whoever had the talent and vision to create something like this was likely a recognized and acclaimed artist. Approximately 25 1/2 inches wide x 20 3/4 inches tall x 10 1/2 inches deep. Good condition, with some small areas of light scuffing and minor paint loss please see photos.
