Army African American Black World War I Era Bordeaux France Studio Photo

World War I Era U. Army African American Black Soldier Antique Original Studio Photo. On the front side, the studio information is printed. It appears to read: D. Berard, 46 Cours du Jardin Public, Bordeaux. The soldier has a "27" on his hat, which may indicate the 27th Infantry Division.

An "A" appears on his lapel pin. I cannot see any other markings. There is some information printed in ink on the reverse side, including the date, "Jan 11, 19" and France. " It is also addressed to "mamma & papa.

The item measures approximately 7" x 9 1/2". The photo itself measures about 4 1/8" x 5 7/8". The oval shaped photo has some wear along the edges, where there is some separation between the photo and the cardstock backing.

There is also discoloration, creasing, surface scuffing and marks from age and storage to both the photo and the cardstock. Please see photos for more information on condition and ask any questions you may have.
