Beautiful African American Doll Marnie By Christine Orange

This amazing African American doll is "Marnie" there are 2 versions, US and English. This doll is the US version by world famous English doll designer, Christine Orange. She is 30 inches tall with a porcelain head, breastplate, lower arms and hands and lower legs and feet. Her body and upper legs and arms are made of weighted cloth. There are no marks or defects on her at all but I can hear something rattle in her right leg when I move it.

Marnie has long black hair braided into 6 pigtails - 3 on each side of her head. She has hand painted feathered brown eyebrows over her big brown eyes that have real eyelashes on her upper lids. She has a wide little nose over her beautiful closed mauve lips. She is dress in a cute little cotton print dress of a golden yellow with tiny pink rosebuds printed on it. It has a round collar that is trimmed in white hearts lace.

Marnie's sleeves are three quarter length and are banded with a white cuff just below her elbows. Her skirt is full and has a row of the white heart lace about 2 inches from the bottom hem all the way around it. Marnie is wearing a white cotton slip under her skirt and has on black patent shoes with bows on the toes and buckles on the sides. As I said, I can't find any marks, scratches or chips on the doll and to me she looks like she's in perfect condition.

Since there were 2 versions of her made and she is from the US collection, she is just number 023 of 750 of them made. While I don't have her original box or COA she is signed and numbered on the back of her neck by Christine Orange.
