The photographer's name REES is stamped on the mount just off of the lower-right corner of the image. Mount dimensions are 10" x 8 1/8" ; photo itself is 7 7/8" x 5 1/2". The only other example I can find of this historic image is in the collection of the Library of Congress, and I do not believe a photographer is attributed. According to the LOC, this was part of a collection of important African American images assembled for the 1900 Paris Exhibition. Condition: The mount has edge wear, as shown, and a repair in the lower-left.
The image itself is in excellent antique condition with very light soiling, and no damages.
