Gorgeous Simon & Halbig 17 Mulatto/Black/Brown 739 DEP stamped body No Cracks
Wouldn't this beauty look amazing under your Christmas tree? She is one of those forever dolls with a beautifully painted face, amazing eyebrows that are feathered, large paperweight eyes with wonderfully accented eyelashes. She was introduced to compete with the French market. Her Café au Lait complexation is vibrant and still very lovely. She is a treasure and I do hope that she becomes yours. She is fashionably dressed and ready to display and love. This doll is simply one of the best I have had the privilege to have in my possession. She is a total knockout as to condition and looks. She is the first doll that I see when I look at one of my doll families. Please note that the photos have wig hairs and they are not cracks:- Thank you. Please note the two photos from 2 books that feature the 739 Simon & Halbig doll. This doll appears to be the same as mine as she is 17 tall as well. The photo in color is from Book 2 by the same author, page 13, plate 27. The dolls in the books are different sizes but from the same beautiful mold. Note the red stamping on her back photo 7, Handwerck, Heinrich Handwerck made the bodies and Simon & Halbig made the heads for many German dolls. There are a few small areas that need to be addressed. First, there some paint loss, wig pulls, old glue at the top of her head. Second, she does have some small chipping where her neck meets her body. There is some wear on her rear. She is well strung and can hold a pose. She is quite well made and heavy:. She comes with her beautiful synthetic handmade wig, a beautiful dress with sewn in slip that is an old one and has a couple of stains on the back, a onesie, a half slip, tiny earrings, older somewhat fragile shoes, and cute striped socks.
This is a beautiful doll looking for a new wonderful home:- I will miss her but it is time. Her head will be packed and diapered.
