Incredible historic 19th century (c1880s) original large mounted cabinet photograph depicting a group of workers in a black amber sweet cane field. 3 or 4 men are white Caucasian and two are Black or African American. One can note how all the men (with the exception of one white man who is in farmers clothes) are dressed in clean suits and vests.
Pencil inscription at base reads Gathering Amber Cane Seed Near Washington DC. Verso also boasts a period ink inscription in top corner. Exhibits gentle wear consistent with age.
