Beautiful early painting by important Atlanta artist Larry Walker (b1935). This acrylic or maybe oil? On board is 20 x 30 in, signed lower right. This semi abstract nude figure laying? Features a great composition, beautiful combination of colors and great impasto.
It seems to be acrylic it might be oil? And seems to have sand mixed to it. The frame has been made and painted with variations of black, grey and purple, by the artist. I contacted the artist through the gallery representing him and he confirmed it was a piece he did late 60's early 70's. Larry Walker, father of Kara Walker, is an important artist who just got, in the past years, 2 major museum retrospectives of his work. The piece is in great condition and would be a great addition to any collection. The item "LARRY WALKER painting. 60's 70's abstract. Kara father" is in sale since Friday, October 18, 2019.
