Vintage Prototype / SAMPLE BLACK African American, Loving You Barbie Doll. I then went looking to see when they made the black loving you Barbie and could not find one thing. I even watched the old commercial on you tube and still could not find anything. So at this point I contacted the woman who also had another doll that was a sample/ Prototype and she said that she lived near the Mattel Factory back in the 80's and use to frequent a wonderful doll shop close by. She said it was not uncommon for the factory to discard dolls that they were not going to put into production...

So this is what I know of her. Photo's 1-9 taken outside, rest inside. Arms and legs are tight.

She has her ring, and her earrings in the red color as seen in photo's. She has a mark under her neck look at photo 11. You do not see it when looking at her straight on. No neck split, No green, She has white specks on photo 7 on her side, and what looks like a few grey hairs on her head.
