Featured artists include Benny Andrews, Cleveland Bellow, LeRoy Clarke, David Driskell, David Hammons, Richard Mayhew, Joe Overstreet, Raymond Saunders, and Ben Hazard, among many others. Published to accompany the exhibition held at the lobby gallery of Illinois Bell Telephone, 225 W. Randolph Street, January 12 - February 5, 1971.

This was a very large, important exhibition that toured to six other venues in the Midwest. This copy is for reference, as it is water stained but readable and complete. We are pleased to offer this publication which is part of a large and important private library devoted to African American art history and Black artists working in the America from the period of the Harlem Renaissance through mid-century, the Black Arts Movement, and to today. Many of these items came directly from artists and African American scholars. Please check back periodically to see more books, catalogs and ephemera that we plan to list from this collection.

Over time, we plan to list hundreds of rare and out-of-print publications.
