I'm afraid to try gluing it because of the mechanism inside (see pix), didn't want to get glue on it. I stored her for years with no batteries in the compartment so there is no corrosion in there, but in getting her ready for sale I tested the mechanism with D batteries and her legs did dance, but they seemed to slow down after a minute so I shut her off to avoid any possibility of damaging her. We have so few African American ballerinas! Can you think of anyone besides Misty Copeland?
I know they are out there but even today there's not great representation. She is a gorgeous, minty (except the arm) doll. Her box is in very good condition, with some yellowing and minor wear around the closure, as often happens with 50 year old cardboard. There is a tape mark across the top and back of box where someone peeled off tape and part of the cardboard. Other than that box graphics are really nice as you can see in all the pictures.
Honestly the doll looks to me like she could be on a shelf today though again- except the arm! I strive for happy customers! Offers welcome, please don't be shy, I'm looking to sell her and if you want her, hopefully we can find a price we are both happy with.
You will probably never see another one of these dolls in this great of condition with all of her accessories! She makes such a beautiful display and is such a great moment in history. I hope you will love her as much as I have. Thank you and happy shopping!
