It was professionally repaired and is not falling off, the tape is for additional support. The name Marka is of African origin meaning rain. She has an exotic, earthy presence, eyes of an old soul and the personality of a toddler having a terrible 2's crying fit. You will love this precious toddler doll closely resembling an original Moss doll. She is an emotionally expressive portrait art doll, styled curly hair, rare 19th century rich amber glass eyes, heavy eyelids, luminous dark brown complexion closely resembling Moss originals, pouting mouth, plump cheeks and 3 precious tears falling. Antique composition and cloth toddler body in nice condition, left arm is a little loose due to a fabric tear (small repair and tape around it for additional support) 22 with thick chunky bent arms, legs and turned up toes. This style of doll body is realistic and adorable.

How my journey with Leo began.. Since the onset of the pandemic, I began my journey with papier mache and the art of Leo Moss. I fell in love with his poignant story and his dolls. They are truly works of art and it is a great honor in owning several of them. I call this a gift of first-hand knowledge and as close as it gets to Leo Moss and his techniques. Holding his dolls I get to experience how his dolls really look and feel, his sculpting and coloring techniques and their wonderful expressions. When our country "locked-down" I had to find a creative outlet to keep myself occupied. I channeled the sadness and difficulties of an ongoing pandemic into creating dolls.
