You are purchasing a late 1970's African American black Gayle, Sindy's friend doll by Marx. It is new in an opened box complete with dress, underwear, shoes, stand, Sindy fold out toy brochure, inner plastic tray and clear plastic tray cover. It has been stored in a cool, dry, smoke free basement since the early 1980s and was owned by an adult collector. The doll has never been played with or displayed out of the box. The tape on each end of the box had been cut so I removed the doll to take the listing photos. There is plastic residue on the left foot from the plastic shoe. I believe that the foot may have a small puncture mark in the same area, see photo 12. The box is in very good to excellent condition with no tears. I would rate the box as a C 7.5 - C8 with C10 being pristine mint. The box's cellophane window is present but has come unglued on the doll's right side.

Also there are some indentions in the inside clear plastic tray cover and well as 3 cracks in the right side of inside yellow tray (1/8", 5/8" & 3/4 respectively). There are also some "melt marks" and holes in the yellow inner plastic tray from age. In looking at other photos of this doll on the internet it appears this is a common issue of plastic deterioration. That all said, this is a hard to find doll and rare to find in almost new condition, complete with box. Please contact me prior to purchasing with any questions or if additional photos are needed.
