Vtg Madame Alexander African American PussyCat Doll (1977) 14 Mfg in USA. Wow she's a beautiful vintage Madame Alexander PussyCat doll, following an earlier 1965 PussyCat black doll by M. This beauty shows minimal to no play time, very pristine condition. Her rooted hair is simply lovely, soft, shiny, thick, slightly curls under at the back. Her face is precious, great color and sleep eyes in an brownish amber color with long lashes. She is wearing her original labeled pink gingham check baby costume, and has original hand tag. I added a stretch hairband at her waist with a huge pink peony flower, I like it on her. She has her original booties. I gave her a crochet sweater with small color accents at the bodice (a few are missing on one side so here's your chance to re-design that part to your liking). The sweater kinda matched her booties and looks like it fits her. I have also noted a faint stain on the back of her sweater, see pics. Also added is a new doll crier voice box. I unstitched the doll's back seam, replaced the crier, and used a zipper closure in case her crier needs replacement in the future. Did you see how her brown torso fabric cover has no stains or wear? The old Crier is in her box. Just for reference, the old criers for the vintage dolls really do not sound like a crying baby, more like a squeak, but as the years passed, the doll makers got better at the crying sound. I had a real crier doll, drove my mom crazy!

The doll has her original box, still in good condition, and the wrap is simply a piece of white fuzzy fabric I had, with a furry pink piece of fabric folded to serve as a pillow.
