William Tolliver (US/Mississippi) African-American original pastel on paper signed and dated triptych. The first image is signed, William Tolliver, and dated, 1988, lower right, the others are monogrammed, WT.

The triptych is presented together in a shaped canvas-type mat that is about 40" x 32" overall. It is in overall very good condition. Matting has some soiling (see photos) and a few loose string threads (that can be cut away). Please review all the pictures as they are part of the description.

I love my work and I have worked very hard to portray African Americans with pride and dignity. My goal is to bring to the forefront the seriousness of art as a person's heritage. I want my art to serve as a history lesson.

Tolliver has received numerous awards and recognitions for his contributions in the field of art. He has been featured in major art publications, including The Art Gallery International and the International Review of African American Art. His works is in the permanent collections of the Corcoran Museum, McKissick Museum, Hampton University Museum, New Orleans Museum of Art and the Zigler Museum.
